The Monster in the Toy Box
Meet the Monster in the Toy Box. While some monsters might prefer hiding under the bed or in the closest, this little monster’s favorite place in the toy box!
This monster can be made in any yarn and hook combination you want. Just be certain that the fabric is firm enough that stuffing does not show through.
I used Vanna’s Choice Solids in 2 different colors plus a scrap of black for the mouth.
- MC- Aqua (230 yards)
- CC- Goldfish (30 yards)
I’ve also added included instructions to make a monster with stripy arms. For this version, I used Loops and Thread Impeccable Solids in the following amounts:
- MC- Aqua (220 yards)
- CC- Amethyst (45 yards)
The Monster in the Toy Box is an intermediate-level pattern. Skills you will need include single crochet, single crochet in the bottom of a foundation chain, crocheting two pieces together, increases, decreases, and seaming.
The pattern has plenty of progress photos to help you along your way to making an snuggly monster. Also included is a photo tutorial on how create child-safe eyes from felt (and teeth!), although instructions for using plastic safety eyes are given as well.
