The Mystery at Rosewood Manor is a “Crochet Your Own Adventure” pattern by Kelsey Emerson, that was run as a mystery crochet along from January-March 2023. The pattern is now available in full through digital download.

The first pattern of its kind, The Mystery at Rosewood Manor includes a 64-page short story that directly correlates to the design of your project. As you read the story, you will be presented with choices, or pathways, and your decisions in the story will directly affect your design. In total, there are 16 pattern parts across 9 chapters, with 96 possible pattern combinations. You can create this piece more than once, with an entirely different look and aesthetic depending on the choices you make along the way. When your project is completed, you will be able to “read” your piece, and retell the major points of your adventure.

Full of twists and turns, the Mystery at Rosewood Manor follows our main character (YOU!) as you explore the isolated mansion of reclusive billionaire, Arthur Rosewood. You star as a journalist, trying to uncover the dark secrets of this gothic estate. Along the way, you’ll run into some curious characters, and face challenges like puzzles, codes, and riddles. Only the bravest of explorers will make it out alive by the end of the night. If you’re a fan of room escapes, murder mysteries, or Choose Your Own Adventure books, this project is for you!

Your pattern will create a round piece - either a wall hanging, small round tablecloth, or round blanket - depending on your yarn choice. Yarn requirements and completed size will vary on your yarn weight and pattern choices, and are included in our instructions document upon purchase. (Estimate between 2250m-3200m or 2450yds-3500yds).

This pattern is rated Difficult/Advanced, and includes techniques like front and back post stitches, puff and cluster stitches, and working in the third loop. It is written in US terms. The pattern includes a full, row-by-row photo tutorial, and support is provided through our private Facebook page or emailing the designer. There is NOT a full video tutorial, however there is a filmed stitch tutorial and several helpful videos available to access with your download. If you’re up for an extra challenge, this pattern also includes a text-only edition, without photos, to make this a true mystery pattern.
