This quick and easy project makes the best gift, either planned or last-minute! It’s also speedy enough for you to make several for your friends and one for yourself. It is knitted in the round until the flap (stockinette) and then knitted back and forth flat (garter stitch) until bind-off.

You can consider it a scrappy project too, because it uses two worsted-weight yarns held together (and you can add very thin mohair to the mix). In the pink and lavender sample I marled together one leftover variegated yarn, Primrose Yarn Co. merino in Sonic Youth (no longer produced) and one solid cream-colored yarn, with Knit Picks Aloft mohair in Oat. This combo created a very soft fabric. You can also hold two contrasting yarns together or create stripes by using several leftovers from your minis.

The Nanny Clutch is soft and squishy, and has room for your phone and a few essentials for a night out; or, line it in a cute fabric and stick your needles or notions inside. Finished size 9” x 6”.

Hope you enjoy knitting it!
