This is the perfect introductory pattern if you are new to hats. It’s clever design is cute, but simple to knit. The hat is designed for a lightweight sport weight yarn making a beautiful warm weather baby hat. However the gauge could easily be modified to accomodate a larger yarn.

This pattern is written for a child age 6-12 months (this is on the conservative side, it may fit up to a size 2yrs depending on the child)
