To honor a friend the word could be changed to “friend”, as well as for a “husband (or wife)” you’d be proud to see. This is an easy pattern using only chain and double crochet stitches. For the poppy single crochet stitches were also used in addition to double crochet. A larger hook will produce a larger rose, as well as a larger poppy. Thanks to the kindness of a ravelry friend I realized that I forgot to add the yardage for the rose. If using a G hook, 7 1/2 yards is plenty. For the Poppy, it will be a little less.
