The New Brunswick Cardigan
The New Brunswick Cardigan was created my first winter living in New Brunswick. I chose Briggs & Little yarn to create this pattern with, as it is made and sold right here in the province. However, you may choose to use any heavier weight worsted yarn you like.
This is a raglan style cardigan, designed to fit at the shoulders and be loose and flowy around the body. The pattern is written with a lot of positive ease for a comfortable fit, and is designed to reach just below the butt - however it can easily be made longer or shorter as desired.
The pattern was originally written as a plus size pattern, and adapted to smaller sizes. Because the sizing is so forgiving, and easily modified to fit different needs, there are 5 sizes included: small/medium; large/extra large; 1/2x; 3/4x; and 5/6x. If larger sizes are needed, please feel free to contact me for assistance. People who wear a smaller size (ie: an extra small/small) may choose to go down a hook size to a 7mm to achieve the same effect.
For any questions regarding stitches, sizing, or other pattern notes, please feel free to reach out to me on Facebook at Things Made of Strings.
