The Newcomer Hat features an unusual brim construction, using “intarsia-like” techniques, bobbins and lace stitches to create a pointed edging. The body is then knit in a simple 1x1 rib. This hat makes for a quick but engaging knit for advanced beginners looking to improve their skills. The edging is both written and charted. The pattern has been tested.

The design is inspired by my love of the video game series Animal Crossing and the design is drawn from the “red pom-pom hat” an in-game item in Animal Crossing: New Leaf and Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp. ALL proceeds from this pattern will go to Feeding America.
