It’s going to be three years since I started updating my old patterns to bring them in line with my current standards, and I have now come to realize that some of them will probably never be updated, either because I have gifted the samples and cannot make nice photos, or I simply don’t have enough time, etc.

So I decided to let go of this idea and just allow those earlier patterns to be, well, my earlier patterns reflecting me as a designer at that stage of my professional development.

Instead, I am changing the pricing for those older patterns. They are now 50% less, and this is not a discount, but their permanent price from now on. You can purchase these patterns here, on Ravelry where I have grouped them into a separate bundle.

Happy crocheting!

The Nile is a shawl worked in the Tunisian crochet entrelac technique. It is worked side to side in rows of little squares with the front side always facing up.

Each element of the shawl is small enough to place all of your stitches on a regular crochet hook.

Find Tunisian crochet glossary at www.msweaver.com/tutorials/tunisian-crochet/.

The pattern includes:

  • the written instruction and schematics
  • a photo tutorial
  • the additional layout diagrams, which show several possible geometric patterns and the rules for combining and striping the colors. The yardage for each layout is provided.
  • an empty layout grid to colorize and create your own shawl design.

Materials:

  • Yarn: Sock by Malabrigo, Light Fingering/3 ply, 100% merino, 440yd (402m) per 100g skein, shades 803 Ochre, 806 Impressionist Sky, 807 Cote d’Azure, 1 skein each
  • Regular crochet hook: US H (5mm)
  • Yarn needle to weave in ends

Finished Size (blocked):
- 61” (155cm) wingspan, 27½“ (70cm) height at center
