No stitches more difficult than simple knit and purl stitches means that this is a great project even for a beginner, while experienced knitters will still find satisfaction in no large sections of the same stitches.

The name of this pattern was inspired by the fact that Dallas Green of Alexisonfire was wearing a grey cowl in their music video for the song “The Northern”.
