The Northwind is a baby / toddler / young child’s pullover that’s knitted bottom-up as one piece until the sleeves when the fronts and back are knitted separately. Sleeves are picked up at the armholes and then worked top down.

The optical effect of the pattern is made by shadow knitting (illusion): sections of knit and purl stitches, combined with stripes using only one colour at a time. The boat neck has shoulder straps with buttons.

This is a very warm pullover; however low the temperature, the Northwind keeps the cold at bay!
