This is a PDF knitting pattern for the cozy and oversized Norwich Cardigan.

I wanted a garment for crocheters to be able to easily transition into knitting, and so the Norwich Cardigan was born.

This cardigan features a simple knitted body… and a twist… a crochet trim. Don’t crochet? No worries! I have included instructions for both a crochet and knit trim, just in case! Check out the photos to see the difference.

This beginner friendly project is written in US terms. The pattern is written for sizes XS-5XL with sizing chart included.

This garment was designed with several inches of positive ease for an oversized fit.

Sizing is as follows:
XS: fits bust: 28-30in / 71-76cm cross back: 22in / 56cm
S: fits bust: 32-34in / 81-86cm cross back: 24in / 62cm
M: fits bust: 24in / 62cm cross back: 26in / 66cm
L: fits bust: 40-42in / 101.5–106.5cm cross back: 28in / 71cm
XL: fits bust: 44-46in / 11.5–117cm cross back: 44-46in / 11.5–117cm
2X: fits bust: 48-50in / 122–127cm cross back: 32in / 81cm
3X: fits bust: 52-54in / 132-137cm cross back: 34in / 86cm
4X: fits bust: 56-58in / 142-147cm cross back: 36in / 91.5cm
5X: fits bust: 60-62in / 152-158cm cross back: 38in / 96.5cm

All sizes have been tested.

For this cardigan you will need approx.:
XS: 850yds of color A, 350yds of color B
S: 950yds of color A, 375yds of color B
M: 1100yds of color A, 400yds of color B
L: 1200yds of color A, 425yds of color B
XL: 1275yds of color A, 450yds of color B
2X: 1375yds of color A, 475yds of color B
3X: 1450yds of color A, 525yds of color B
4X: 1525yds of color A, 575yds of color B
5X: 1600yds of color A, 650yds of color B
