This is a pattern for a simple 12” garter stitch bias blanket square. It is designed so the squares can be easily joined together to create a blanket of any size. The pattern was born when Crisis (Edinburgh), a UK charity for the homeless, asked for blankets for Christmas 2020 in September. The short notice meant that we knitters for Operation Christmas Stocking had to come up with an idea for making blankets quickly.
It was decided that a 12” square using leftover DK yarn or sock weight yarn held together would be a good idea. Our vision is that 20 squares would make a decent sized blanket.
