The Oma Cardigan
At its core, the Oma Cardigan is an homage to all the beautiful vintage (yet timeless) granny square afghans that grandmas all over the world have made, that we all love-- and if we’re lucky enough to own one, cherish so dearly.
It is a highly customizable & size-inclusive crocheted granny square cardigan with optional knitted elements. The pattern is made-to-measure and written in US terms. It is best-suited for an intermediate skill level or higher.
Included in the pattern are instructions to create a personalized granny square cardigan exactly how you want it; granny square style, yarn fiber content, yarn weight, color palette, body width and length, sleeve type… Each aspect is entirely up to you! There are detailed descriptions, written instructions, photos, graphs/diagrams, and even automated measurement calculators made specifically for Oma to help you along the way. I’ve included 3 preset types of sleeve to choose from: Granny Square, Crochet, and Knit.
