The One is a long, rectangular wrap. It features sections of linen stitch texture and sections of mosaic colourwork; each section is separated by a Latvian Braid.

The concept for The One came from having one special skein in my stash that I absolutely loved and wanted to celebrate. For me, that was a Hypothesis Yarn skein in the colourway Urchin. I wanted to create an accessory that celebrated this variegated colourway by drawing out the different colours in the skein.

Knitwear design definitely encourages me to embrace more colour, but I also love neutrals. One of my favourite things about this design is how versatile it is - it works beautifully both as a colourful stash-buster and as a monochromatic piece.

The sizing and yardage is based on working with fingering / 4-ply / sock weight yarns, as in the colourful sample, although the monochromatic sample substituted sport-weight yarn, resulting in a slightly larger version.

SIZING
The One pattern is written in one size with finished measurements as follows:
Wrap Depth 18.25” 45.5cm
Wrap Length 57” 142.5cm

GAUGE FOR LINEN STITCH PATTERN
Using 4mm / US size 6 needles, or needle size required to meet gauge, 28 stitches over 60 rounds in linen stitch pattern, blocked, creates a 4x4”/10x10cm square.

YARDAGE (includes ~10% excess)
Yardage assumes you are working with fingering / 4-ply / sock yarn:
Main Colour (“The One”!): 386m / 423yds / 100g
Background Colour: 562m / 615yds / 156g
Contrast Colour 1: 186m / 203yds / 47g
Contrast Colour 2: 89m / 97yds / 23g

Please note that if you substitute yarns of a different weight (such as in the monochromatic sample that uses sport-weight yarn), your yardage will be affected.
For example:
Yardage for sportweight (monochrome version):
Main Colour (sample uses an off-white colour): 1300m / 1422 yds / 500g
Contrast Colour (sample uses black): 220m / 240yds / 55g
