The Owl Shawl
The beautiful owl shawl has a triangular bottom up design; it starts from the triangle peak, and is worked in rows, back and forth, till you reach the top edge (widest part or hypotenuse of the triangle). The lace owl stitch is delicate and subtle, yet not childish.
IMPORTANT! Please note that you should be able to work with a crochet chart (there are no text row-by-row instructions for this pattern).
About this pattern:
- INTERMEDIATE / UPPER INTERMEDIATE level.
- 7 pages PDF file.
- Crochet chart (including the legend and the symbols).
- 40 photos of the shawl making process (including step-by-step photos and text instructions for the trickier moments).
- Text instructions and tips on how to work with the chart.
- written in English, US crochet terms.
You need to know basic crocheting stitches, have some previous crocheting experience, and be ready to concentrate and follow the chart. Great news is, as soon as you remember the stitch repeat, you will be able to continue without consulting the chart and the photos. The dimensions of the shawl (the widest part (along top edge) is about 120cm/47”, and the depth (from middle top edge to triangular peak) is about 66cm/26”) are given for 2 skeins of lace weight yarn and 2.5 mm crochet hook, though you can easily adjust the size by choosing a larger hook and thicker yarn and using more yarn.
