The Pagoda Shawl
The Pagoda Shawl got its name after pagoda-like shapes created by slip stitch border pattern.
Please note the row 19 of slip stitch pattern should read:
K3, M1, K2, (Sl1, K3) repeat ……
Though I have suggested the yarn it can be knitted in sock and DK weights and its size can be fully adjusted. Large size uses 1400 yards.
The shawl is knitted from the bottom up starting with single stitch and the border is added afterwards.
The textured stitch used is a combination of two different Japanese stitches put together which creates thicker fabric.
I have used pure cashmere in blue colour called Dorothy’s Dress (2 skeins 55g each with little left) and silver called Silver Pearl (30g).
The pattern is written and it has been design for knitters of all skills. One should be familiar with basic slip stitch technique.
It is easy and fun to knit.
Can be worn in different ways, wrapped around shoulders or as a scarf.
Fab addition to any wardrobe!
