The Parterre Granny Square is a visually appealing motif with many colour combinations and possibilities.

The size of the square will depend on the yarn and hook used. Pictured is a 10-inch square, made from 8ply (dk) yarn and a 4mm hook.

There is no gauge used for this square as you can make it in any square. If the stitches are too tight, go up a hook size; if too loose, go down a size.

You will need yarn, a hook, scissors and yarn needle.

The number of skeins will depend on what the finished item will be, a blanket, cushion, etc. I am currently making a blanket and will edit this pattern with some more information once it’s finished.
