The Penny Polo
The Penny Polo is a versatile, lightweight top that features a lace-shell pattern & notched collar.
Although this is a made-to-measure pattern, I provide my own measurement preferences & stitch count to help you get a better feel for how this top can be sized larger or smaller.
The beauty of this type of pattern is that it can be re-created with any weight of yarn (& corresponding hook size), whether you’re looking for a lightweight garment (#1 sock) or a thicker garment (#4 worsted). Likewise, depending on the weight of yarn that you choose, you will need to guesstimate yardage & is up to your discretion.
To guarantee a more precise fit, I recommend using a measuring tape ALONG with trying on the panels (or holding them up to your person for reference).
This pattern can also be made in 3 different styles - sleeveless vest, short sleeved, or full length sleeves.
Color Suggestions: Solid color top (1 colorway) or striped (2 colorways)
#1 Sock Weight Gauge:
21 sts x 6 rows = 4” x 2.25”
