This is going to be your go to pattern for the summer. It is so easy. The lace yoke creates the drape needed for a natural neckline and a soft cap sleeve.
Techniques: Knit, purl, K2tog, YO, knitting in the round, 3 needle bind off (explained in stitch glossary)
Included in the pattern are photos, a complete list of abbreviations, a stitch glossary and schematic.
Skill level: Advanced beginner to intermediate. This could be your first garment.

Yarn
BERROCO, INDIGO (95% cotton, 5% other fibers; 219yds; 100g) color 6470; light worsted weight yarn.
Specific yarn requirements listed below.
For a substitute yarn, any worsted weight plant fiber yarn or blend. I like the idea of something with a little texture, or variegated color because of all of the stockinette stitch.

Needles & Notions
32in circular needle, US 7/4.5mm, or size needed to obtain gauge
2 stitch markers
Extra needle, 24in or longer circular size US 7/4.5mm for holding stitches and working 3 needle bind off
Tapestry needle

Pattern notes: Shell is worked from the bottom up. You have a choice of a split edge, the back being longer than the front, or a straight edge with no split. For the split edge, work the lace for the front and back separately and then join your work to work in the round to the armholes. For the straight edge, cast on and knit in the round, first the lace pattern, then stockinette stitch to the armholes. For both versions, you then divide your work at the armholes, and work back and forth for the front and back. There is no armhole or neck shaping. The shoulders are joined with a 3 needle bind off. Important – if your swatch is not “square” after blocking, I would suggest the straight hem version. The side splits will not line up with your sides unless your swatch is a true square.

Sizes
The pattern is written in 14 sizes. Sizes 30 - 42 are written in the first set of parenthesis and sizes 44 – 56 are written in the second set of parenthesis. It is written for 3 inches of ease. You may want to decide how wide you want your garment to be and choose that size. (Measure a shell that you already have and love the fit.)
