As long as your windows are square, using a different gauge won’t affect the design, but it will change the finish size and the amount of yarn needed.

Yardage app. 200 meters for each of your two colors (app. 1 skeins for each colors)

I wrote a description for two options. Option # 1 - crochet in the round. I like to crochet this way, because it turns out a very smooth and beautiful work.
If it is more convenient for you to crochet from bottom to top, the option # 2 is for you. But you need to crochet 3 rows in the round to make beautiful edge.
