Mars is part of The Planets Collection - shawl patterns inspired by the orchestral suite by Gustav Holst. The lace pattern was designed by Naomi Parkhurst using her system of encoding words into numbers, in this case the word Mars. A bold mosaic pattern contrasts with the large lace panels. The sample was knit with Pendragon DK from Avalon Springs Farm in colorways that evoke landscapes of Mars.

The length and width are customizable and the pattern can be knit in any weight yarn from fingering to a light worsted. Finished size of the sample is 17 x 62”.
