The Plexus Beanie has the prettiest trellis effect formed by using simple cable and wrapped stitches, just perfect for all seasons as it comes in a whopping SIX yarn weights, from aran/worsted right up to the heaviest super chunky! As with all my patterns, it’s been thoughtfully written and thoroughly tech edited as well as tested by my amazing team. Knitted in the round from the bottom up, the pattern repeat is a multiple of four stitches over four rounds and size can be adjusted accordingly.

Skill Level ~
Adventurous Beginner. There are written and video tutorials to ensure success every step of the way, with or without a cable needle.

Method ~
Knitted in the round from the bottom up using a simple pattern repeat.

Size ~
Approximately 20 cm/8” wide by 23 cm/9” tall (with slight variance depending on yarn weight) to fit adult size 56 cm/22” head circumference. Due to the nature of the design, there is a larger negative ease that allows for the perfect fit.

Yarn ~
Aran/Worsted:
Malabrigo Rios/Worsted/Washted, Juniper Moon Farm Moonstone. 119 m/130 yds
Light Chunky:
Malabrigo Mecha, We are Knitters The Petite Wool. 93 m/102 yds
Chunky:
Malabrigo Chunky, Manos del Uruguay Cardo. 80 m/88 yds
Light Super Chunky:
Malabrigo Noventa, Manos del Uraguay Franca. 78 m/85 yds
Super Chunky:
Malabrigo Rasta, Baah Yarn Mammoth. 69 m/76 yds
Heavy Super Chunky:
We are Knitters The Wool, Wool and The Gang, CSW. 53 m/58 yds

Gauge ~
The gauge given is over 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”, worked in pattern and in the round, using the larger recommended needle size for each yarn weight, unstretched and unblocked. When choosing which pattern to follow for the yarn you wish to use, you may find it useful to check the WPI (wraps per inch) given below.
Aran/Worsted ~ 24 sts and 28 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 11
Light Chunky ~ 22 sts and 24 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 10
Chunky ~ 18 sts and 20 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 8
Light Super Chunky ~ 16 sts and 18 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI - 7
Super Chunky ~ 12 sts and 14 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI – 6
Heavy Super Chunky ~ 11 sts and 11 rnds = 10 cm x 10 cm/4” x 4”. WPI – 5
