The Pompeii series is named after a sunset stroll among the ruins of Pompeii, a few years ago. Before Pompeii was buried under the ashes of Mount Vesuvius, it was a city full of life and art, and seeing life frozen at a moment thousands of years ago, is a strong experience.

The Pompeii Tee is part of a family of 3 designs - The Pompeii Top, the Pompeii Tee and The Pompeii Sweater. I am not excluding that there may be more designs in the series in the future.

The Pompeii Tee has a v-stitch lace pattern at the top, and the rest of the body is worked in dc, double crochet. It is crocheted top-down, first from each back shoulder respectively, and then in the same way at the front, from each shoulder. Through gradual increases the neck is shaped, lower in the front than in the back. After finishing the front and back separately, the rest of the body is crocheted in the round in double crochet (dc). The result is completely seamless.

The sleeves are also made top-down, by first extending the v-stitch pattern and creating a sleeve cap, and then working in the round in the v-stitch pattern. The sleeves and body are finished off with decorative ruffles.

The pattern uses US crochet terminology.

Sizes: (XS–S–M–L) (XL-2XL-3XL-4XL) equivalent to bust measurement:

Cm: (75-85-95-105) (115-125-135-145)
Inches: (29.5-33.5-37.5-41.25) (45.25-49.25-53.25-57.0)

Bust with PE (positive ease):
Cm: (75,6-85,6-95,6-106) (115,6-125,2-136-146)
Inches: (29.75-33.75-37.75-41.75) (45.5-49.25-53.5-57.5)

Arm circumference:
Cm: (32-32-35-35) (41-46-46-52) cm
Inches: (12.5-12.5-13.75-13.75) (16.25-18-18-20.5) in.

Total length:

Inches: (20.5-21.25-22-22.75) (23.5-24.5-24.5-25.25)

The tee is made with 0-1 cm/0-0.5 in. of positive ease, since the quality of the yarn and the texture means that it is a bit elastic and will expand a little bit. But if you know that you want a looser fit, you can also choose the size above the one you had otherwise intended.

Here is what you need:
Yarn category: Fingering to light fingering

Yarn suggestions (Northern Europe): Sandnes Tynn Line, 220 m per 50 g, or an equivalent. Sandnes Tynn Line consists of 53 % cotton, 33 % viscose and 14 % linen.

Hook: 3 mm or what you need to keep the gauge/US Hook size D
