THE RACHEL HAT
A modern take on a classic, this pretty wool hat features diamond motifs embedded within a richly textured cabled pattern, with columns of crossed stitches extending into the ribbed band. A great intermediate project, Rachel features a variety of interesting cables laid out in an easy-to-execute fashion.

YARN
Approximately 210 yds (190 m) of a light & lofty worsted weight yarn. Shown in Blue Sky Fibers Woolstok (100% Wool); 123 yds (112 m) / 50 g.

NEEDLES
Size US 7 (4.5 mm) 16”/40 cm circular needle (ribbing, body).
Size US 7 (4.5 mm) double-pointed needles x 4 (crown).

GAUGE
30 stitches & 28 rounds = 4” (10 cm) in Cable Pattern, after blocking.

FINISHED MEASUREMENTS
17” (43 cm) circumference x 9.75” (25 cm) length, after blocking. To fit approx. 22” (56 cm) head circumference.

The stitch & round multiples on which RACHEL is based are now included in the pattern. For less experienced knitters who want to make a different size, the math is now provided.
