The Ridge is an asymmetrical shawl using SSKs, garter, slip stitches and a small touch of colorwork.

Finished Measurement after blocking is 77” wingspan and 13” at the widest point.

Inspired by mountain ridges edged with defined lines, the road traveling along side, and the expanding interstate lanes.
I’ve chosen the asymmetric shape and short rows to capture the long road going home near Chicago from Pasadena CA. SSKs start you off after leaving the LA area and traversing through the desert. Stripes of garter create the mountains while slip stitches define the ridges as they climb up the mountainside. Gentle 2 color colorwork gives the lines of the roadway just as you enter the wide express lanes nearing Chicago.

Enjoy your journey!
