The Road to California
This is my version of a quilt. A single quilt square, blown up to a comfortable afghan-size for maximum visual impact, knit in squishy garter stitch and the softest of alpaca blends.
Making the squares individually means it stays portable until the very end, and for those like me who hate to sew, never worry -- the seams are crocheted, and the border picked up from the edges.
Yarn requirements: 500g / 750m each of aran weight yarn in colors A, B and C (you might need marginally less of color C).
Shown in: Garn Studio DROPS Nepal
Color A: 6314 (blue), 10 balls
Color B: 0100 (cream white), 10 balls
Color C: 2923 (yellow), 10 balls
Gauge is approximate and after washing. Don’t worry too much about it as long as you like the fabric, or just knit your squares until the edges are 50cm long.
