The Roll-o Hat is cozy and warm, with a hipster flair. Directions are given for three sizes: toddler, child, and teen/adult. The teen/adult size has a loose, slouchy fit. The child size has a moderate amount of slouch and the toddler size is more fitted. Tips are given on how to increase the height of the hat to add more slouch. This hat is made using chunky yarn, making it an evening project.

You should be familiar with basic knitting terms, know how to purl and knit, use double-pointed needles, join in the round, work in the round, and make decreases such SSK and K2Tog.

Materials

~Set of 5 U.S. 11 (8.00 mm) Double Pointed Knitting needles

~6 ring place markers

~1 locking stitch marker

~ Approximately 150 yards of chunky/bulky yarn (or weight category five); Less than 80 yards for the child or toddler size. Some suggested yarns include Loops and Thread Charisma and Deborah Norville Serenity Chunky Yarn.

~Two 3/4” or 1” Buttons

~Tapestry or Wool Needle

~Matching or coordinating yarn/thread of your choice to attach buttons
