As a new knitter it can be difficult to find patterns that suit your wardrobe, challenge you with new skills, but aren’t impossible. Meet the Rookie Hat! This basic knitted beanie is the perfect hat for beginners looking to make their first piece in the round. Techniques used are knitting, purling, decreasing, and using double pointed needles (don’t be scared! It’s just for a few rounds at the end!) This hat comes in One Size, but if you feel comfortable enough in your skill to adjust it to different head sizes, go for it! This beanie is stylish for people of all ages and head sizes.

As you’re knitting, please feel free to reach out and ask any questions you might have on the pattern! For new knitters, sometimes video tutorials aren’t enough, and I’m happy to help with any part you might find confusing. Knitting in the round can be daunting, but hopefully you’ll find this pattern uncomplicated!
