The Rosie Jumper
I started knitting this jumper with autumn in mind, I love a jumper that can be worn with a camisole or vest underneath and isn’t too warm, but if you put a top underneath it’ll keep you nice and toasty. It is made to be a slightly larger fit, and to be nice and comfy. I love the intentionally obvious raglan decreases, as well as the puffy sleeves! I hate seaming, I avoid it at all costs, this pattern is nearly completely seamless - besides a 3 needle bind off of the underarms!
This pattern is probably an advanced beginner or intermediate level of difficulty. If you want an oversized fit I would size up 1 or 2 sizes. I would also suggest measuring both your bust and hips and using the larger of the 2 measurements as it is knitted in a circle shape and the body has no increases or decreases. This pattern goes from 30 inches to 56 inches at 2 inch intervals, and the measurement is the actual size the jumper will measure. I would recommend if you measure yourself and then go to the size up, for example if you measure 42 or 43 inches, knit the 44 or 46 inch pattern. The trickiest bit of this pattern is the joining at the yoke, if you follow the instructions exactly then it won’t be too tricky.
The pattern is written for sizes 30, 32, 34, 36, (38, 40, 42, 44, 46, 48) 50, 52, 54, 56 inches.
640m, 680m, 720m, 760m, (800m, 840m, 880m, 920m, 960m, 1000m), 1040m, 1080m 1120m, 1160m of aran yarn is needed
Note: I want to include sizes 58, 60, 62 inch patterns but I need testers for them so please send me a message to discuss that
Adjustments
This pattern is quite easy to adjust, if you’d like to make the jumper bigger or smaller make sure your cast on number is divisible by 6, I’d also make sure you’ve got a very accurate gauge if you wish to adjust the pattern. The sleeves are also quite easy to change the size of, if you want a slightly looser fit size up on the cuff size. If you’d like a less puffy sleeve you can ignore the second row of the sleeve increase (K1, kfb), or if you’d like an even puffier sleeve you can repeat the first sleeve increase row twice (kfb every stitch). All of these adjustments will mean the stitch counts at the end of the rows will be wrong, I’d recommend working out all of the number of stitches after increases or decreases.
Good luck!
