Looks can be deceiving. This cowl gives you the impression that it’s complicated, but it isn’t. Only two different skeins of yarn are used to create this beautiful and colorful cowl--one in a blue/black tone; and the other in a yellow/red tone. Only the knit stitch is used. No purling. It makes a great gift for Christmas. The yarn used is a scratchy wool and you may want to substitute for a slightly softer yarn.

This cowl can be made in two different sizes: Short cowl = 30” round; and Long cowl = 60” round; depth is 8” for both.

Yarn needed: Kauni Wool 8/2 EFFEKTGARN (5.9 oz/170g, 745 yards/681.2m, 100% Wool): EU, 2 (2) balls (MC

Kauni Wool 8/2 EFFEKTGARN (5.90 oz/170g, 745 yds/681.2m, 100% Wool): ELC, 1 (1) ball (CC)

NOTE: The only thing that I could find to block this cowl was a foot tub. Notice the picture with the cowl wrapped around the tub. The picture displays the LARGE cowl which is 60” round.

ALSO: Since I utterly despise the Kitchener Stitch, I chose to use a three-needle bind-off for this project.

This pattern can only be purchased through the Cast On Magazine. It cost me approximately $18.00.
