About The Sandy Beanie
The Sandy Beanie was inspired by the Bayside suburb of Sandringham, (colloquially known as ‘Sandy’), in Melbourne, Australia, where my son was born. This beanie was made for him for his 5th birthday as he loves wearing beanies in winter. The small cables represent the calm ripples in the sand created by the bay waters of Port Phillip Bay. The large cables are reminiscent of whale tails, which was the theme I used to decorate my son’s cot when he was born.
