The Sara Scarf
The Sara Scarf is made of motifs that are joined as you go. A versatile pattern similar to the spider lace motif, it utilizes loops on the sides to make the joins, not unlike Bruges lace. The center utilizes cluster stitches to add depth and texture.
It looks equally charming in solid colors and can be made the length of your choice. Add more rows, and it becomes a wrap. In the second set of photos, it was made half as long then joined with lightweight buttons into a cowl. The yarn was a self-striping one, so there were very few ends to weave in.
You want your lace to open up, so use the size hook needed to obtain the suggested gauge. Light blocking is also recommended.
There are a few photos detailing the cluster stitches as well as a chart.
