The Scarf of Holes
A simple join-as-you-go crochet motif in a beautiful yarn produces a stunning scarf. I did invent the motif but it’s not complicated and I’m sure has been invented before.
No gauge specified - just keep going until the scarf is an acceptable size for you. I used most of 4 balls of Katia Bombay, a DK weight mercerised cotton yarn in a variegated mix of turquoise, aqua and purple. I used a 3.5mm hook rather than the suggested 4mm because I thought it gave a better result. When you’ve chosen your own yarn experiment with different hook sizes until you’re happy.
Please note when substituting yarns: the edges of the scarf are quite “frilly” and I imagine could be very irritating in the wrong yarn. Make sure whatever you choose is truly non-tickly.
I’m sorry the instructions are rather minimal but I don’t have enough time to work it up properly, and hey, it’s free. By all means contact me if you’re really stuck but it isn’t that difficult, honestly, just a bit fiddly. It would probably help if you had some experience of joining as you go, particularly with hexagon motifs.
