My Grandfather was a seaman, Gran would look out to the sea and watch for the fishing boats to come in, she would console the women whose men did not come back form sea. To this day Gran has a chair and watches the boats come in.This shawl is to honour both my Grandfather and Grandmother and the many other women who have waited for the men to come safely home from sea.

I asked my Gran what charity she thought as I was thinking a maritime charity, she said St. Judes. so all proceeds will go to St. Judes Children’s Hospital.
