The Simple Things
Kits available on our website.
Sometimes all you need is a simple project and some fun yarn. The Simple Things shawl is a relaxing project that can easily be modified to make the most of the yardage you have. The shawl calls for 2-3 skeins of Cushy DK and features soothing stockinette and a fun Mock Fisherman’s Rib. The resulting shawl is very satisfying to knit and simply lovely to wear.
Pattern Notes
The Simple Things shawl is knit top down, with increases being made along the central spine to form a triangular shape. The body of the shawl can be knit to whatever size you like, and the Mock Fisherman’s Rib border can be started at any point. You don’t need to obtain a certain stitch count to begin the border; just make sure you leave enough yarn (around 70-90g) to complete it.
The shawl was designed to be very easy and relaxing to knit. I used some fun colours to knit mine; you could even incorporate stripes if you want. Another modification that you could make would be to knit a panel of the Mock Fisherman’s Rib in the centre of the shawl body and then again at the border.
