The first shawl of New Lines, a collection of 4 shawls inspired by Art Nouveau, released between Nov., 2012 and Feb., 2013. By purchasing the entire collection you will receive updates each time a new pattern is added.

Art Nouveau was marked by novel lines: lines that flowed, lines that moved and curved back upon themselves, sensuous and sinuous lines. Inspiration for these lovely lines was found abundantly in nature, from branches and roots to flower petals and insect wings. It was even evident in the flowing of a maiden’s long hair. This top-down triangle shawl catches the beauty of the sinuous line. The body is marked by simple vertical eyelet lines that transform into the undulating lace edge, which is worked on both right and wrong sides. Both charted and written instructions are provided.

Skill level: Intermediate to advanced.
