Knitting enables anyone to create luxurious and functional accessories for everyday wear. Patterns do not need to be complex to produce beautiful results.

The Skinny Scarf Pattern uses garter stitch and simple eyelet lace to create a reversible scarf (looks the same front and back). Because of this, it can be worn in a variety of ways (see pictures). As it only needs one skein, you can splurge on really nice lace weight yarn.

This simple pattern knit in fine yarn produces a luxurious accessory that makes a wonderful gift. It knits up fairly quickly as it has only one pattern row to remember and uses 4 mm needles. It is a great pattern for new knitters as it uses no purl stitches and the lacy effect is created by yarn overs and knitting two stitches together.

The sample was knit in Sugarbush Drizzle in the Thunderstorm colorway. The gentle color changes in the yarn add visual interest to your project without complicating your knitting. By using a mohair/silk yarn you ensure your finished product will be a dainty confection that is soft, light weight and warm.

(UPDATE: Giving the pattern a whirl with Cascade Duo Eco and size 5mm needles and am really liking the effect. Turns what was definitely a more feminine scarf in lace weight into a more unisex item. The softness and drape of the aran weight yarn is definitely what makes me so pleased. It is soft and squishy and will make a lovely quick Christmas gift. I’m still on my first skein. Will update once I know how much it takes to get to a good length.)
