This toy is made of acrylic yarn:

  • the large version, 30-35 cm (12”) tall - 100g/300m - 1.76 oz/164 yds, about 70 g will be required
  • the smaller version, 20 cm tall - 30g /180 m, about 30g needed

The lips, tongue and horns are made separately and joined in the process of crocheting, forming the head.
The legs and tummy are also made separately and, when attached, form the body.
The ears and eyes are attached to the head, which is then sewn to the body.
The tail is made separately and sewn on at the end of the process. The mane is crocheted directly onto the toy.
The toy has a wire frame inside the legs and the body, the lower part of which (from the hooves to the hips) is wrapped with several layers of yarn covered with PVA glue. However, if you wish, you can make completely crocheted legs, this option is also described in the pattern.
You can install a 2nd wire frame, passing from the head to the tail, as well. This helps to avoid a shaking head when the neck is not filled tight enough. And you can set the giraffe head in any pose.
I offer 2 options for creating the pattern of the giraffe skin: embroidering and painting. You can choose any of them or create your own.
