The Snowflake Bonnet
The Snowflake Bonnet is knitted back and forth from the forehead towards the back. The back is knitted with short rows. After this, attached I-cord is knitted along the bottom edge of the bonnet. Beautiful double brim and a lovely textured stitch make a perfect heirloom for babies.
Available sizes:
newborn (13”-14” head circumference)
0-3 months (14”-15” head circumference),
3-6 months (15”-16” head circumference),
6-12 months (16”-18” head circumference),
1-3 years (18”-19.5” head circumference).
Skill Level: Beginner/intermediate
Craft: Knitting.
Suggested needles: Size 3 mm (U.S. size #2,5), 3.5 mm(U.S. size #4) needles.
Gauge: 24 sts/40 rows per 10 cm/4 inches in stockinette stitch after blocking.
Suggested yarn: 40-60 g of any sport yarn weight (Debbie Bliss Baby Cashmerino, Merino Alpaca Sport by Cloudborn Fibers, Rowan Alpaca Soft DK)
