I am a sucker for variegated yarn. Always have been and always will be. I must admit though, short-repeat variegated yarn (SRV) can be tricky to use, particularly when there are a lot of strong colours. It pools and flashes in ways you didn’t expect when it winked at you in the skein.
This pattern for a large squishy garter cowl uses less than one skein of SRV (held double) plus a complimentary solid to break up the short repeats.
The pattern is suitable for a beginner or a more experienced knitter looking for a quick, easy stashbusting project.
You will need
1 skein of short repeat variegated fingering weight yarn as MC
1/2 skein of a complimentary solid fingering weight yarn as CC
