The Stare: Gentle Giants was inspired by the documentary, ‘The Woman Who Loved Giraffes.’ It’s the story of Dr. Anne Dagg, a Canadian Zoologist, who dedicated her life to the study of animal behaviour, in particular, Giraffes. It’s an incredible film, one worth a watch, maybe while you knit this hat. ;)

Yarn Used:

  • All ‘Stare’ hats are knit with Sueno, by Hikoo Yarns. Sueno is a DK weight yarn comprised of 80% Superwash Merino and 20% Bamboo. You will need 2 contrasting colours.
  • For my sample, I used Charcoal (Colour A, 90 yards) and Caramel (Colour B, 120 yards)

Needles:

  • 3.50mm and 4.00mm needles on a 16” cord and 4.00mm DPN’s, or circulars on a 40” cord. Choose your preferred method of knitting small circumferences.

Gauge:

  • 22 sts / 4”

Sizes Available:

  • This hat will fit a head circumference of 24”

Additional Materials Needed:

  • 3 stitch markers, one unique for BOR

  • Scissors

  • Darning Needle
