The Stars and the Pines is a knitted snowflake ornament. Once again I was inspired by the beautiful crochet snowflake. This time it was Double Star Snowflake by oloflilja.

Materials
• Any yarn weight
• 4 dpns in size recommended for the yarn
• circular needle in corresponding size or scrap yarn
• Tapestry needle (for weaving in the ends)
Notes
1. Size will vary depending on yarn and needles chosen.
2. Lacy points: The points of the snowflake are formed by a series of cast ons/bind offs, otherwise known as picots and a backwards loop cast on method to create the stars in the middle.
3. Stiffening: Block out your finished snowflake. You will also need to stiffen it if you want to use it as a hanging ornament. Use any stiffener you prefer.
