The Stitches Beach Bag
Crochet Beach Bag PDF Crochet Pattern File. The Stitches Beach Bag is designed by Trudy Stephens (Stitches By Trudy).
US Terms used throughout.
You will need:
For the crochet bag
- Cotton yarn: 10 ply.
I used Anette Eriksson XL Eco Cotton 200g in white, grey, denim and linen.
My finished bag weighed just over 500g, which is equivalent to approx. 2.5 skeins total
- 5mm hook
- Scissors
- Darning needle
For the lining
- Lightweight cotton fabric (eg. poplin or quilting cotton) approx. 1.5m
I recommend choosing a print with a background colour similar to your yarn.
- Matching thread
- Sewing Machine
- General sewing notions such as pins, seam ripper, hand sewing needles. If you have a sewing machine, you most likely have all these bits already.
- Cutting mat and rotary cutter (optional, scissors work just fine)
- Large ruler or tape measure
Disclaimer:
I am not an experienced seamstress by any means! This will be my first tutorial with sewing elements, so please excuse any amateur terminology or techniques! This is just how I create my bag lining, and it has worked for me so far. If you have more experience or a better method to achieve any of those steps, go for it! I am very much self taught and am learning as I go!
Finished Bag:
Your finished bag should measure approx. 14 inches deep, and 17 inches wide. The Lining is optional, however I highly recommend adding it, as it will prevent your bag from stretching.
