The Stripy Monster
Meet the Stripy Monster. All monsters are special, but this one is truly one of a kind, because how your monster will look in the end is totally up to you. Should he wear thin stripes? Thick stripes? Random, scrappy stripes? The choice is yours!
This monster can be made in any yarn and hook combination you want. Just be certain that the fabric is firm enough that stuffing does not show through.
You can use as many colors as you would like, so long as you have at least two colors and around 100 yards total, depending on the weight of your yarn. I have Included a list of different methods you can use to kick-start your stripy monster creation!
My monster is made in Vanna’s Choice Solids using two different colors:
- Bluebell (65 yards)
- Silver Heather (35 yards)
The Stripy Monster is an intermediate-level pattern. Skills you will need include single crochet, half double crochet, increases, decreases, color changes, embroidering eyes using yarn (plastic eyes can be used instead) and some seaming.
This pattern includes plenty of progress photos to help you along your way to making your one-of-a-kind Stripy Monster.
