Pattern notes
• The Hat is worked from the top down in rounds, joining at the end of each round, and with the RS facing throughout. The pattern is divided into three sections, Crown, Body and Brim.
• In the written instruction every stitch is listed so you can easily follow the pattern step by step.
• The pattern is based on granny stripes which uses groups of 3 dcs (2 dcs in the first 2 rounds) crocheted in the same stitch or space.
• On rounds where the number of stitches is increased the dcs are in groups of 6
• The pattern is written for one color. If you wish to use additional colors, at the end of the round close with a ss or invisible join, then fasten off. At the start of the next round, add your new color in the indicated stitch or space, using a standing dc, standing, hdc, or standing sc.
• It is possible to add additional rounds of 3dc groups between round 18 and round 19 if you want your hat higher. When you finish the body section the hat should slightly cover the top of the ears.
• It is possible to skip round 25 if you want a shorter brim.
• If you want the stitches tighter it is also possible to yarn under instead of yarn over before you pull yarn through the stitch or try a smaller hook size.
