The Surprise of Glacier Blue
Ebba sweater knitted in the round - with optional design elements of lace, and colourwork, which can be used separately or combined - to create a boxy, 3/4 sleeve sweater. Quantities of wool will vary according to options chosen, but around 5-7 balls of Lett Lopi in main colour, and one each of four contrast colours should be sufficient for 36-40” size. Additional instructions and charts now added for size 40-42” and size 44-46”.
Eyjafjallajokull scarf - one size, lace & short rows knitted flat, naturally creates a curved, spiral shape. Can be knitted all in Einband, or with insertions of Lett Lopi too for texture - again quantities will vary according to options chosen, but 2-3 balls of Einband should be sufficient if only one colour is required. Sample used 2 balls of main colour, plus four contrast colours, and small amounts of Lett Lopi left over from Ebba sweater sample.
Both projects are worked on 6mm circular needles, and 4.5mm needles are used for the Ebba sweater neck border. I find it useful to have one x 80cm, and two x 40cm (one for each sleeve). I used a 150cm for the scarf.
These projects were designed by me for my Portfolio course at Hereford College of Arts, 2018-2019. I’ll be grateful for comments.
