The Temperance Toque is an intermediate level double brim hat that fits heads 21”-23” in circumference.

• 5mm (US size 8) 16” circular needles (2 sets if opting for a provisional cast on)
• 2 contrasting colors of worsted weight yarn Main Color: 150 yards Contrasting Color: 35 yards
(If you use a different yarn for the hat body you will need 70 yards of that color.)
The ear warmer version uses 100 yards for the main color and 35 yards for the contrasting color
• Suggested yarns: Caron Simply Soft, Lion Brand Heartland, I Love This Yarn, Big Twist Value Yarn, Red Heart Soft, Patons Classic Worsted, Lion Brand Jeans, Red Heart with Love
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors
• Four 5mm (US size 8) Double Pointed Needles (DPNs)
• Stitch marker

Size: Tween/adult 21”-23” head circumference

Your Finished hat will be approximately 9.5-10 inches tall.

                           What colors should I use?

This pattern looks best with high contrast colors. If you were to take a picture of your yarn choices and turn it into a black and white photo, you should still be able to see both colors in contrast even in gray scale. Use the coloring sheet on page 8 to experiment with different color combinations.
