I have used #bernat Handicrafter Cotton because of it’s durability with everyday use.
You will need a base and finishing color, (navy blue)
I recommend at least 2 (80 yd) skeins
A background color for the filet ,(White)
2 skeins
&
4 other colors.
I ‘ve crocheted this with an G or an H Hook
