The Universal Beanie helps you stash bust with either Worsted #4, Bulky #5 or Jumbo #7 weight yarn! You can make multiple sizes and easily alter the ST/ROW count to make a custom fit.

This pattern has been tested by other makers in the community and they have even tested DK #3 and Super Bulky #6 weight yarns by altering the hook and ST count.

While the pattern doesn’t support DK and Super Bulky directly, the pattern is easy enough to modify to get any fit you’d like.

Notes:

• Written in US terms with a UK conversion chart.
• Photo guides for FDC and sewing the beanie closed are found at the end of the written pattern(s).
• Yardage total is for the largest size (Adult Medium).

Materials:

Worsted:
Caron Simply Soft x 2
or
215yds/196m

• 5mm Hook

Bulky:
Estelle Chunky x 2
or
200yds/183m

• 6mm Hook

Jumbo:
WAK - The Wool x 2
or
105yds/96m

• 12mm Hook

Gauge:

• Worsted: DC = 7 ½ Wide by 6 tall = 2”
• Bulky: DC = 6 Wide by 3 Tall = 2”
• Jumbo: DC = 3 Wide by 2 Tall = 2”

Stitches:

• FDC
• Double Crochet
• Slip Stitch
• Front Post Double Crochet
