The 'Uppsala' Christmas tree ornament
The Uppsala Christmas tree Ornament is made in YOSLST (Yarn over slip stitch), and is shaped using clever decreases. The construction is very simple, so that you can easily make several.
It is a fast project that can be made using only small amounts of scrap yarn, if you wish.
The tree is made first, and then you add the stem and the hanger.
It can also be made as a stand-alone tree/decoration.
The pattern is gaugeless, but if you want the intended size, the yarn should be an Aran weight (75 g per 50 m).
The pattern is easy to follow and has detailed written instructions with pictures, and also a video tutorial for the stitch.

It is a perfect opportunity to learn an interesting and useful stitch pattern - the yarn over slip stitch (YOSLST) in the back loop. After this you will be ready to make other projects in this stitch pattern. While also making a pretty Christmas decoration for someone you love, or for your home.
